Mary Stephenson of Ventura, Calif., formerly a Fairfield resident, died on November 24, 2003 in California.

A "Celebration of Life" memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, May 8, at Fairfield Evergreen Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. A dinner will follow at Fairfield Golf and Country Club for all family and close family friends.

Mary Montgomery Stephenson was born on August 20, 1909 at home in Fairfield. She was the daughter of James Montgomery and Ada Lambertson Montgomery.

Mary attended Fairfield High School and graduated in 1928 as valedictorian. Mary attended Parsons College in Fairfield and graduated, magna cum laude, in 1931. She also received her masters degree in French from Syracuse University in New York.

Mary married Charles Stephenson, M.D. in 1935. They have one son, Charles Montgomery Stephenson.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1989; her sister, Lydia Montgomery; and brother, Charles Montgomery.

She is survived by her son, Charles; nephews, James and Clifford Montgomery and Stephen and William Rogers; and a myriad of friends who hold Mary in the highest regard.
