Earl H. "Sonny" SCEARCY Jr., 70, of Bonaparte, died at 8:10 a.m. today, Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.
Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Earl H. "Sonny" SCEARCY, 70, of Bonaparte died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.
A funeral is at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with Larry Shipley officiating. Private burial of cremains will be in Vernon Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).
Visitation opens at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home with family present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials to Vernon Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 21909 Marion St., Keosauqua 52565.
Mr. SEARCY (sic - SCEARCY) was born Nov. 17, 1943, in Hillsboro, the son of Earl and Marcella June TRIPP SCEARCY. He married Sharon THEISSEN, Grace GILCHRIST and Pronia DELE CRUZ.
He was an over-the-road truck driver.
He was an avid cook, hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda SNODGRASS of Kirksville, Missouri; one son, Earl Ralph SCEARCY and spouse Riea of Belmond; five grandchildren; several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren; five sisters, Alice DICKERSON, Darlene DEAN and Judy SCEARCY all of Keosauqua, Betty PRINTY of Bentonsport and Mary SEDERBURG of Mt. Sterling; and two brothers, Mike SCEARCY of Fairfield and Dale SCEARCY of Mt. Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Linda SCEARCY and one brother, Harvey SCEARCY.
