Monday, August 7, 2000F. Lee JOHNSON, 91, of Fairfield died at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Family visitation will be tonight from 7 to 8 at Behner Funeral Home. Memorial contributionssmay (err) made to the Fairfield Lions Club, Fairfield Public Library or the First United Methodist Church.
The son of John and Emma TEETER JOHNSON, he was born on May 10, 1909, in Birmingham. He married Louise BROWN on March 18, 1936 in Dixon, Ill.
He had lived most of his life in the Fairfield community. He was a 1927 graduate of Fairfield High School. He was a self-employed farmer in the Birmingham area and operated trucks in the Fairfield area. He owned and operated service stations in Ottumwa and Sigourney.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Fairfield Lions Club, Elks Lodge No. 1192, Clinton Masonic Lodge AF and AM No. 15, Oddfellows Lodge No. 4 and the Howard Johnson Coffee Club.
He is survived by his wife of Fairfield; three sons, Brad of Naperville, Ill., Alan of Washington, D.C., and Roger of Danville, Calif.; one daughter, Julie FORBES of Davenport; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond.
