G. TURNIPSEED rites of Douds

DOUDS - Services for George E. TURNIPSEED, 87, Schertz, Texas, formerly of Douds and Libertyville, who died Saturday, Feb. 13 at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Stephen Conte officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville. Friends may call at their convenience starting at noon Wednesday. The casket will not be open. Memorials may be sent to Edith TURNIPSEED, 16513 IH-35 North, Schertz, Texas, 78154.

TURNIPSEED was born Aug. 19, 1900 in Wellman, the son of James and Nettie ALLEN TURNIPSEED. He farmed near Libertyville, operated his own livestock truck, retired to Douds in 1972 and moved to Texas in 1982. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church at Douds. he married Edith E. SHEETS March 26, 1927. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Marjorie CUDWORTH of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Lucile MILLER of Fairfield, Ruth CHILDRESS of Lincoln, Neb., and Ada KEIFER of Des Moines. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
