BATAVIA - Services for John E. COLLOPY, 82, Batavia, who died Sunday at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Batavia.
COLLOPY was born Sept. 5, 1904 in Hancock County, Ill., the son of William and Anna JOHNSON COLLOPY. He lived most of his life in the Batavia area where he was engaged in farming.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Batavia.
On Dec. 20, 1939 he was married to Velma KRIEGH, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dean of Geneva, Neb., and Ivan of Salt Lake City, Utah; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy RUMPH of Ottumwa; and one brother, Loy of Ottumwa.
The Rev. Mary Ann Bernard will officiate at the Wednesday services. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8 tonight at the Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia.
Memorials may be made to the Batavia Public Library.
