Death came Saturday evening to Mrs. H.F. GOODALE, 74, well known resident of this community for about 40 years.
She passed away about 11:45 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital where she had been seriously ill for the past seven days. She had been in failing health for the past several years.
Last rites will be at the Weston Behner funeral home Friday, Nov. 25, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The GOODALE home is located at 204 N. Main street where GOODALE maintains his insurance business. He is a former sheriff of Jefferson county and a former member of the city police department.
Arminda K. GOODALE was born April 9, 1886, in Johnson county, Iowa, the daughter of William and Delila SWARTZENDRUBER KREIDER. She was united in marriage to H.F. GOODALE on Dec. 30, 1908, at Clarion, Iowa. She was a member of the First Methodist church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C. O. SHOEMAKER, Bremerton, Washington, and three grandchildren. She is also survived by five sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Sarah REBER, Iowa City; Sam KREIDER, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Esther MILLER, Iowa City; Mrs. Ida GIESE, San Francisco, Calif.; Fred KREIDER, Glendale, Calif.; Alam KREIDER, Peoria, Ill.; and Mrs. Lila HERSHBERGER, Upland, Calif.
Mrs. GOODALE was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Herbert F. GOODALE, well-known insurance man and former Jefferson County sheriff, plans to go to Bremerton, Wash., to make his home for the present with his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. SHOEMAKER.
Mrs. SHOEMAKER will arrive after the first of the year to accompany her father as he makes the trip by car.
