DIED.

BECK.-At the residence of her father, in Black Hawk township, Monday, Feb. 23d, 1880, Emma E., daughter of David and Elizabeth BECK, aged 20 years.

Emma was a girl of rare loveliness and purity of character. Charming in person, rich in mind, and radiant with virtue's crowning grace, she seemed like a goodly pearl fitly adorned. A loving daughter, a cherished and unselfish sister, a sincere and faithful friend, she leaves many hearts to mourn her untimely end. Suddenly the death angel bore her from earth. One day she moved in her accustomed round in usual health, the next found her robed for the tomb. When the morning of her twentieth birthday dawned, her heart had stilled its beating and she slept in dreamless rest.

"Leaves have their time to fall,
The flowers to wither at the north wind's breath,
And stars to set,--but all,
Thou hast all seasons for thine own, O death."

Mourning hearts, amid your tears look up!-- He who in Gethsemane's agony attested His love for you and her will comfort you. To His Almighty arms and divine love commit your darling, till in the eternal years you shall know why.
