Mrs. BALLEW, 76, Taken In Death

Mrs. Ann Lee BALLEW, 76, 907 S. Fourth street, died Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. at the Jefferson County hospital.

Mrs. BALLEW had been in failing health for some time. She entered the hospital Monday.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral home in charge of Edward M. Esler. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. BALLEW had been a resident of Fairfield for the past eight and a half years. She made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley MAPLE.

She was born Oct. 23, 1886 at Mill Grove, Mo., the daughter of Zachariah and Jane WEDDLE SIRES. She was reared and educated in Mill Grove and Princeton, Mo. She was married to Leonard BALLEW Oct. 20, 1908.

Mrs. BALLEW was a member of the Christian church and the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Oscar CARTER, LaPorte, Tex., and Mrs. MAPLE; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Hal HAMILTON and Mrs. L.J. OGLE, both of Spickard, Mo., and one brother, Steve SIRES, Modena, Mo.

One son, three brothers and one sister are deceased.
