Frank Junior Bagby Jr.
April 20, 2004Frank Junior Bagby Jr., 75, of 807 W. Taylor Ave., died at 10:47 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, at Nelson Nursing Home.
The body has been willed to the University of Iowa Body Donor Program-College of Medicine-Department of Anatomy.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Following the service, friends and relatives are invited to the Doug Bagby residence for fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Special Olympics, Fairfield Public Library or Nelson Nursing Home.
Mr. Bagby was born Nov. 28, 1928, in Fairfield, the son of Frank Gale and M. Georgia Hootman Bagby. He married Bonnie Pickard Sept. 16, 1948, at Woolson Friends Church in Richland.
Mr. Bagby was a lifetime resident of Jefferson County. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1948. He was the assistant public works director for the city of Fairfield. He had worked at Fairfield Lumber Company for several years.
Mr. Bagby was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was a lifetime member of Fairfield Elks Lodge 1192, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, a former member of the senior citizen site board and the McElhinny foundation board.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Douglas Bagby and wife Wanda of Fairfield and Daniel Bagby of Glenwood; one daughter, Denise Mineart and husband Dale of Fairfield; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Keith Bagby of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Myrna Bagby Corry.
