Service for June Adele BARKER, 58, of rural Brighton, who died Friday night at University Hospitals in Iowa City, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville with the Rev. John Lee officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Lutheran Church Cemetery at Harrisburg, S.D., at 11 a.m. Thursday. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hope Lutheran Church.
Mrs. BARKER was born July 7, 1928 in Algona, the daughter of Adelbert and Ella WOLFGRAM HANNA. She married Robert L. BARKER June 25, 1949 in Fairmount, Minn. She was a homemaker and elementary school teacher, having taught special education in the Kiester, Minn., Sioux Falls and Harrisburg, S.D., school systems. She had lived for nine-and-one-half years in the Germanville community, where she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was secretary for Hope Lutheran Christian Women and a volunteer with the local branch of Lutheran Brotherhood.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Loren of Osseo, Wis., Philip of Watford City, N.D., Dennis of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Geri OLSON of Harrisburg, S.D., Joanna SOUTHERLAND of Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren; a brother, Robert HANNA of Lone Rock and a sister, Helen MACKEY in California. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.
