Word has been received here of the death of Clifton L. MORGAN, former resident of Fairfield, who died recently while visiting his son of New Orleans, La.
Interment was in Hagerman Cemetery at Hagerman, N.M.
MORGAN made his home in Fairfield prior to and during World War II while he was employed as a supervisor at the Louden Machinery Co.
For a short time after the war he owned and operated a welding shop in Keosauqua. He moved from Keosauqua to Des Moines where he was employed as plant superintendent of Economy Forms Co.
Due to his health he moved to his residence in Almagordo (sic - Alamogordo), N.M., and later to Carlsbad, N.M. he was manager of the classified advertisement department of the newspapers in these two communities.
His last years were spent in semi-retirement managing a furniture store in Roswell, N.M.
Clifton MORGAN was born July 8, 1901, in Gladstone, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank MORGAN. He was married to Esther BOYCE Sept. 21, 1931, at Monmouth, Ill.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Hagerman, N.M.; a member of the Masonic Lodge, Des Moines; and the Lions Club at Carlsbad, N.M.
In addition to his wife MORGAN is survived by one son, Francis, and three grandchildren of Slidell, La.; also two sons and a daughter by a previous marriage, and four grandchildren, all of Seattle, Wash.
