Betty L. PRILL

Betty L. PRILL, 67, of 1005 S. Fifth St., Fairfield, died at 12:30 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at University Hospital in Iowa City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will receive friends form 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorial have been established to First Lutheran Church and Fairfield Community Concert Association.

Mrs. PRILL was born Feb. 26, 1934, in Hutchinson, Minn., the daughter of Leullyn and Elda REITER BIPES. She married Ronald PRILL Dec. 18, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottumwa.

Mrs. PRILL grew up in Ottumwa. She and her husband lived most of their lives in Fairfield. She graduated from University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She was a registered nurse at Jefferson County Hospital from 1956-1986, serving the last 10 years as director of nursing. She was quality assurance and utilization review administrator at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant from 1986-1994.

She was a member of numerous professional nurses associations. She was past state president of Quality Assurance Association of Iowa, past president of P.E.O. Chapter C, member and past president of Lionels, member of Fairfield Community Chorus and a member of Northside Strippers Quilt Club.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Women of the ELCA and chairwoman of the Altar guild.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Nancy LEATHERS and husband Jerry of San Antonio, Texas, and Linda MENCH and husband Michael of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; her mother of Davenport; one brother, Roger BIPES of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; two sisters, Janice ROBERTS of Ottumwa and Judy GOODWIN of Bettendorf.
