Edward A. DWIRE, 77, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at home, following an extended illness, on February 19, 2014. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, at the Clinton Church of Christ. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.

Edward was born June 14, 1936, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Laura Katherine and Alfred DWIRE. His mother later married Paul BRILL who raised Edward and his sisters.

Edward served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1955.

On February 22, 1957 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Beth) WAGNER in Clinton, Iowa.

Edward was a man of many talents. He worked as a painter for several years with his stepfather. Later he completed an electrician apprentice program. During this time period he began to learn, on his own, the plumbing trade and eventually settled on plumbing to be his choice of profession. He owned and operated Emergency Plumbing for 40+ years.

Following his retirement, Edward took up a new hobby, cooking. Edward was an excellent cook and baker and was very generous with his new talent, he was always ready to cook his family and friends a delicious meal or fine dessert.

He will be sadly missed by many.
