James Marion Leuck, 70, of 720 N. Mill St., North Manchester, Ind., died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.

Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. ellis andrews officiating. Burial will take place in rural Center Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation begins one hour before the service.

A memorial service is being planned for a later time in North Manchester, Ind.

Memorials to the Wabash County Cancer Society of Indiana or Center Chapel Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 720 N. Mill St., North Manchester, Ind. 46962.

Mr. Leuck was born Aug. 20, 1933, in Lake City, the son of Marion and Caroyl Leuck. He married Roberta Hervey Collinge Feb. 17, 1965, at Center Chapel Church in Keosauqua.

He graduated from Rockwell City High School in Rockwell City in 1953. He served in the Army in Korea. After attending a linotype trade school in Charles City, Mr. Leuck worked as a reporter and linotype operator for several Iowa newspapers, including the Van Buren County Register and the Bonaparte Record-Republican. He moved to North Manchester to be the managing editor and sports editor for The News Journal. He later owned and operated, with his wife, The Print Shoppe and Jim's Choice. For 15 years he drove a school bus.

Mr. Leuck was a member and official of the North Manchester Rotary Club, chamber of commerce, and the community association for a private campground, Grand View Bend. Following 15 years as assistant manager and printer in Manchester College's printing department, he retired in November 2003.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

In addition to his wife, survivors three stepdaughters, Joyce Davidson of Louisville, Ky., Jacque Lynn Collinge of Indianapolis, Ind., and Julie Hostetler and husband Greg of Madison, Wis.; and three grandchildren.

His parents and half-sister preceded him in death.
