Mildred Marien LEE

Mildred Marien LEE, 86, of Donnellson Health Care Center in Donnellson, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1996, at the care center.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery at Lockridge. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Foundation for research.

Mrs. LEE was born June 18, 1909, in Montrose, the daughter of Hugh Earl and Lottie Ve STARR TWEEDY. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1926 and attended Parsons College. On Feb. 28, 1930, she married Harry Albert LEE in Mount Pleasant. He died June 17, 1993. She taught school for three years. A resident of the Lockridge community for most of her life, she was a farm homemaker for 60 years. She was a member of New Sweden Methodist Church and the Fairfield Square Dance Club.

Surviving are a son, Guerdon H. of Fairfield; three daughters, Margaret MILLARD of Mount Pleasant, Marilyn SHEETS of Ames, Linda HICKENBOTTOM of Fairfield; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth TWEEDY of Montrose, Jay TWEEDY of Argyle, David TWEEDY of Keokuk; five sisters, Marjorie LIND and Virginia PEZLEY, both of Argyle, Ve WARDLOW and Elizabeth DRESSER, both of Montrose, and Florence WOODRUFF of Keosauqua. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Hughie TWEEDY; a sister, Cartherine LOWENBERG; and a grandson.
