Betty C. WITZENBURG, 92 of rural Fremont, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa.
A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery (note - in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA).
Visitation begins at 11 a.m Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with family present from 5-7 p.m. to greet visitors.
Memorials may be made to the Fremont EMT Group.

Mrs. WITZENBURG was born, Oct. 10, 1921, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Bert and Mattie VAN ARKEL BOUMA. She married Bob WITZENBURG May 5, 1943, in Cedar.
She grew up in rural Oskaloosa, and the family moved to rural Kirkville when she was 9.
She graduated from Kirkville High School in 1940.
She furthered her education at Murphy's School of Business in Oskaloosa.
She went to work for the Continental Overall Factory as an accounting manager.
She and her husband lived rural Oskaloosa and rural Kirkville before settling in rural Femont on their farm.
She was proud to be a farm wife, and help with the farm chores, took care of her garden and raised her family.
She was a talented seamstress and made many clothes for her family.
She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa.
Survivors include three children, Bob WITZENBURG and spouse Joyce of Packwood, Becky QUEISNER and spouse Bob of Fort Madison and Ray WITZENBURG and spouse Lynn of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Sjoerd BOUMA of rural Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob WITZENBURG.
