Jean Ann SMITH

Jean Ann SMITH, 69, of Fairfield, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Interment of cremains will be at a later date.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to Jefferson County Health Center and St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mrs. (sic - Ms.?) SMITH was born July 4, 1944, in Fairfield, the daughter of Alfred L. and Ethel I. QUINN SMITH.

A lifetime resident of Fairfield, she graduated from Fairfield High School in 1963.

She attended Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.

She was office manager/bookkeeper for Eyowa Optical Company in Fairfield until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, Altar and Rosary Society and the VFW auxiliary.

Survivors include three brothers, Joseph E. SMITH of Alexandria, Va., James SMITH of Owasso, Okla., and Harry SMITH of Fairfield; and one sister, Mary HESTON of Ephrata, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
