March 23, 2004Hattie A. Church, 91, of rural Bonaparte died at 8:37 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bonaparte United Church, with the Rev. Catie Newman officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.
Visitation will be open from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.
Memorials to Bonaparte United Church or Bonaparte Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 20179 Route W-40, Bonaparte 52620.
Mrs. Church was born Oct. 26, 1912, in Croton, the daughter of Joseph H. and Della Kirsch Cox. She married Kenneth R. Church June 24, 1937, in Keokuk.
She graduated from Bonaparte High School and attended Chillicothe, Mo., Business College. She taught Washington rural school in Lee County, worked at the United States Mint in Washington, D.C., and farmed with her husband north of Bonaparte.
She was a member of Bonaparte United Church, United Women and Stockport Chapter 544 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mollie Bentler and husband Gervase of Bonaparte; one son, Glenn Church and wife Patricia of Savage, Minn.; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Nellie Miller and Ina Osborn; one brother, Stephen Cox; and one great-granddaughter.
