Bettye BARTHOLOW

Bettye BARTHOLOW, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and formerly of Libertyville and Fairfield, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 22, 2014, at home.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Bettye BARTHOLOW

Bettye BARTHOLOW, 92, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and formerly of Fairfield and Libertyville, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at home.

A funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville, with the Rev. Elizabeth Bell officiating. Interment will follow at the Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.

No visitation is scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 304 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville 52567, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. BARTHOLOW was born Jan. 30, 1921, on the family farm southwest of Libertyville, the daughter of Fred and Lucile TURNIPSEED MILLER. She married Olen L. BARTHOLOW April 2, 1943, at her parents' home. He died June 29, 2002.

She attended rural schools and graduated from Libertyville High School in 1938.

After high school, she attended Parsons College and received a teaching certificate.

She taught in rural schools and also taught elementary school in Eldon.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and then Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville.

She and her husband farmed southwest of Libertyville until December 1990, when they moved into Fairfield. She moved to Michigan in May 2007 to be close to her family.

Survivors include one daughter, May Kay BONNETT and spouse Roy; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte BISSIG and Maxine BOLEY; and one brother, Fred MILLER.
