Roy C. SABLE

Roy C. SABLE, 87, of 1326 Gingo, Packwood, died at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at his home.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 8 at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Masonic rites will be conducted during the service. A private family interment will be held at Packwood Cemetery in Packwood.

A memorial has been established to Fairfield Public Library.

Mr. SABLE was born Feb. 7, 1914, in rural Packwood, the son of John Warner and Bertha LOOMIS SABLE. He married Virginia WELLS June 5, 1960, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.

Mr. SABLE grew up in the Packwood community and graduated from Packwood High School.

He lived in Farmington for 20 years before returning to Packwood 41 years ago. He was a plumber, realtor and farmer. He had served as fire chief in Farmington.

He was a member of Packwood Christian Church for more than 40 years.

He also was a member of Mount Moriah No. 27 A.F. & A.M. Masonic lodge of Farmington. He was a lifetime volunteer at Fairfield Public Library.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald K. SABLE and wife Patsy of Arlington, Va., and Robert O. SABLE and wife Jean of Waverly; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Fern DEAN.
