Dorothy A. HUFF, 99, formerly of the Harrisburg community north of Bonaparte, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Arrangements are pending at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Dorothy A. HUFF, 99, of Keosauqua and formerly of the Harrisburg community north of Bonaparte, died Monday Jan. 6, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Mark Caston officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery, north of Bonaparte (note: in Van Buren County, IA).
Vistation with family present is 12:30-2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 28022 230th St., LeClaire 52753.
Mrs. HUFF was born July 14, 1914, in rural Bonaparte, the daughter of Samuel and Mary SWINK DOWNS. She married Benjamin Franklin HUFF Dec. 22, 1934, at Carthage, Ill. He died May 6, 1974.
She and her husband farmed in the Harrisburg community, and she continued to live on the farm until entering Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua in 2010.
She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church where she served many years as a clerk.
She had been a 4-H leader and was active in the Republican Party.
She had a life long love of music, which she continued at the care center where she sang on occasion for the other residents.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda ERICKSON and spouse Kenny of Story City; two sons, Roger HUFF and spouse Joan of LeClaire and Stanley HUFF and spouse Marcia of Vacaville, Calif.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jessie BORGMAN of Eldridge.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Delbert and Roger DOWNS.
