“JANUARY HISTORY,” by H. Heaton. The mortuary list includes…..On the 29th, in Round Prairie Township, died Mrs. Rebekah Wright Stewart aged 80 years. Mrs. Stewart came to this county with her father, Alfred Wright’s family in 1836, when she was eight years old. She was married to W. W. Stewart in 1846, while Iowa was still a territory, and they lived on the same farm a happy and contented wedded life of sixty two years. Mrs. Stewart’s death leaves but four pioneers of the first year of the county, living. The remaining pioneers are: William Coop and his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Simmons of Fairfield, Ephraim Stout of near Glasgow, and Joseph Kirk of near Lockridge.
