DEATH OF Z T SMITH.

Zachary T. SMITH died at his home on West Burlington Street in this city Tuesday morning after an illness of one week from pneumonia. Mr. SMITH was born in Wapello County, October 17th, 1848, and came to Jefferson county with his parents in 1855. He has resided here continuously since, except for a few years spent in Nebraska. March 17th, 1897, he was married to Miss Mary E. HUTTON, who died about two years later. A sister, Mrs. Minerva SMITH, is the only survivor of the family. Mr. SMITH was an honest and kindly man and had many friends in this vicinity who will regret his death. He was a member of the Presbyterian church of this city and funeral services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. Alex Corkey, at the home Thursday morning. Burial will be made at the Lebanon cemetery near Libertyville in the afternoon.

Admin. note: Wife Mary E. died in 1899 and is buried in Brethren Cemetery. Lebanon Cemetery is better known as Cumberland Cemetery.
