Roger Dean MARTIN

Roger Dean MARTIN, 68, of Lewistown, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown.

A graveside funeral with military honors was Nov. 15 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo., with the Rev. Steve Martin officiating.

Mr. MARTIN was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Paul and Ann Mae GRABER MARTIN. He married Margaret HUNEKE in 1976. He married Wilma MOORE PARIS April 15, 1989. She preceded him in death Feb. 28, 2008.

He graduated from WACO High School in 1963.

He served as a military police in the U.S. Army, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.

In 1976, he received his bachelor of science degree from William Penn University in Oskaloosa.

He was a farmer, a carpenter and a factory worker.

Survivors include five children, Andrew MARTIN of Brighton, Phillip MARTIN of Deloit, John Peter MARTIN and his wife Jennifer Marie of Dennison, Josh MARTIN and his wife Jennifer of Ewing, Mo., and Mary MARTIN of Keokuk; an adopted son, Dallas MARTIN of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Cheryl MARTIN of Corvallis, Ore., and Jeri MARTIN-PIERCE of Lucas.

In addition to his wife, Wilma MARTIN, he was preceded in death by his parents.
