Friday, August 26, 1977Mrs. HICKENBOTTOM Dies
Mrs. Chester HICKENBOTTOM, 86, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at Parkview Care Center where she had been a resident since Sept. 10, 1976.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Ed Dorman and the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Raymond Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. this evening, Friday.
The casket will be taken from the funeral home to the church at noon Saturday.
Florence HICKENBOTTOM was born Oct. 9, 1890, near Salina. She was the daughter of John and Ellen HOLLANDER.
She had spent her entire life in the Parsonsville and Cross Lanes Communities in Jefferson County. The family home is on Route 2, Batavia.
Her marriage to Chester HICKENBOTTOM took place Feb. 22, 1911, at Salina. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Cross Lanes Social Club.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. HICKENBOTTOM is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carl MARTIN, Batavia; and fine (sic) sons, Virgil, Batavia; Marshall, John and Hugh, all of Fairfield; and Leslie, Batavia.
Other survivors include 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ephriam HOLLANDER, Fairfield.
She was preceded in death by one son, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers and one sister.
