SMITH, MCCORMICK, DUSTIN, WOODARD, FRESCOLN

DEATH OF W.J.M. SMITH, who had lived in this county since 1852 and had a wide acquaintance throughout it.... Sunday night. His widow, formerly Mrs. Barbara E. McCORMICK, to whom he was married but a few months ago.... His remains were taken for interment to the Cumberland Presbyterian cemetery in Liberty township. Members of the G.A.R. post in this city and old friends and neighbors paid a tribute to this memory. Mr. SMITH was a soldier in the war of the rebellion and did duty on both the infantry and cavalry branches of service. He was severely wounded in one of the engagements in which his regiment participated.

Admin. note: The G.A.R. is the Grand Army of the Republic, the predecessor to the American Legion. W.J.M. was married three times, first to Mary E. DUSTIN who died in 1876, then to Jane C. WOODARD FRESCOLN (from whom he was divorced), and last to Barbara E. ______ McCORMICK.
