DECEMBER HISTORY: By Hiram Heaton. In the city on the 23rd George Howell died aged 67 years. Mr. Howell was born in Pennsylvania and came to Fairfield in 1864. Mr. Howell was an 1849 gold seeker, crossing the plains and enduring the hardships of the long and tedious journey.
