Joe W. JOHNSON

Joe W. JOHNSON, 85, of Des Moines, former Fairfield resident, died Sunday, June 13, 1993, at the Urbandale Health Care Center of complications from Parkinson’s Disease.

The service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

JOHNSON was born in Woodburn. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1925. On June 1, 1929, he married Caroline BUREKER in Fairfield, where they lived until moving to Des Moines in 1950. He was a farmer and an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Farm Bureau.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Harold F. of Albuquerque, N. M.; two daughters, Dolores SOMSKY of Urbandale, C. Joan HESS of Sidney; nine grandchildren and a sister, Kathryn DREXLER of Monticello.
