Ruth P. BRERETON

Ruth P. BRERETON, 78, of 402 South B St., died at 5:42 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 1998, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. BRERETON was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Fairfield, the daughter of Vince and Mary DROZ BROWN. She married Clyde V. BRERETON in 1938. He died June 14, 1993. She lived her entire life in the Fairfield community. She was a cook at Pence Elementary School for 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Guild circle.

Survivors include a son, Ronald of Tampa, Fla.; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Helen McINTIRE of Chillicothe, Mo. and Pearl SAMUELSON of Center City, Mo.; and one brother, John BROWN of Moline, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one brother, Charles; and one sister, Eva.
