Harry A. BONNETT, 77, well known former resident of the Fairfield Community, died this morning in Ottumwa. He had been in failing health since suffering a serious injury in a fall at his home 1½ years ago, and seriously ill for approximately three weeks.
Harry Samuel BONNETT was born August 13, 1896, at Birmingham, the son of Charles and Matilda WADE BONNETT. On June 28, 1919, he married Hazel Belle FUQUA at Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Marvin Eugene BONNETT, Holts Summitt, Mo.; two grandsons and several great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lessie YERION, Libertyville. A daughter died in infancy.
Harry BONNETT was a long time empolyee of the C.B.&Q. Railroad and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Workman.
The family lived in Fairfield area for a number of years, and for a time lived in what was known as "Reed's Castle", an area landmark well known to many earlier residents. He retired in 1961.
Last rites are pending. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Funeral services for Harry A. BONNETT, former well known Fairfield area resident, will be held Thursday at Ottumwa.
The services will be held at 10 a.m., at the Jay Funeral Home.
Following the services, the casket will be brought to Fairfield for burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
BONNETT died Tuesday morning at Ottumwa after he had been in failing health for the past 1½ years. He had been seriously ill the past three weeks.
