Robert F. 'Bob' TOPPING

Robert F. "Bob" TOPPING, 74 of Bettendorf passed away unexpectedly recovering from surgery on Tuesday October 22, 2013 at the Kahl Home. Following cremation, there will be a brief visitation at 5:30 p.m. Friday, October 25th followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6:30 at Adventure Christian Community Church, 6509 Northwest Boulevard, Davenport. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com

Bob served his country in the United States Air Force and was employed by Eagle Food Centers for over 40 years.

Bob was a man of amazing love, faith and integrity. He learned those traits from his parents John and Ava and trained in the company of his siblings, their spouses and families: Alice and Neil, Doris and Bob, Billy and Betty, Janet and Ted, Margaret and David and Connie and David.

He excelled at those lessons of love, faith and integrity. He then spent more than 55 years sharing them with his bride Mary and training his own children and their spouses: Patty, Karen, Chris and Mike, Amy and Brian and Jessica. First and foremost he loved his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. He lived out his faith daily in the way he loved his wife and family.

He enjoyed his Adventure Christian Community church family and Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football. He was interested in anything that his children and grandchildren were doing. He went to music concerts, ball games, dog and horse shows and archery training as an expression of his love and devotion. He listened to all the heartaches that come in a large family with a tender heart and strong arms. He encouraged and rejoiced at the accomplishments, but was proudest when his family demonstrated compassion and integrity. His legacy lives on in his wife, kids, six grandchildren and spouses, Dameon and Beth, Morgan, Dalton, Abigail, Adriana and Liam and one great-grandson Alex.
