Page 3 column 4GLENDALE -— On September 6, 1888, Eli RIZOR fell asleep in that sleep which on earth knows no waking. In his death the community loses an affectionate friend, a kind neighbor; his sorrowing wife and children, a loving husband and father. His absence will be more keenly felt by his family as he has been kept at home for several years on account of poor health. His ambition to work was greater than his strength. During the week in which he died he helped a neighbor to thresh. Though in poor health for some time, his death was sudden and unexpected and causes a sorriw in the hearts of his many friends. He was born in Holmes County, Ohio, Jan. 28, 1846. Came to Jefferson county, Iowa, with his parents in Oct., 1853. Was married to Miss Francis HICKENBOTTOM, Oct. 3, 1871. He leaves a wife, son and daughter to mourn their loss.
The very large attendance of friends at his funeral is a token of the high esteem in which he was held by all.
