Larry McKEEHAN, 74, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Lockridge, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at home.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

Larry E. McKEEHAN

Larry E. McKEEHAN 74, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Lockridge, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at home.

A funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Regan Stoops and the Rev. Earl Swigart officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with family present 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church, HCI Care Services and Lockridge Lions Club.

Mr. McKEEHAN was born Dec. 29, 1938, in Mount Pleasant the son of Evett and Verna LEAZER McKEEHAN. He married Ruth Ann WRIGHT May 20, 1967, at the Little Brown Church.

He graduated from Stockport High School in 1957.

He worked at Rockwell International in Fairfield for 11 years then joined his father in construction and later joined Wiley & Sons Building Contractors, retiring after 18 years.

He helped friends with carpentry projects and enjoyed talking with friends, gardening, model airplanes and experiencing new things.

Since his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed several years of wintering in the south.

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He was an active member of the Lockridge Lions Club for 36 years. He received the Warren Coleman Honorary Award.

Survivors include his wife Ruth Ann of Mount Pleasant; one son, Larry K. McKEEHAN and spouse Denise of Chicago; one daughter, Lanette HILLMAN and spouse Patrick of Amman, Jordon (sic - Jordan); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Darlene ROBERTS of Agency and Pauline SPEES of Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
