Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

David Lynn BITTNER, 46 of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.
A funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday at Green Mound Church in Trenton (note: Henry County, IA) with Nancy Baldosier officiating. Burial will be at a later date following cremation.
Visitation with the family is 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Green Mound Church.
Memorials for the family may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 1815 Erickson Ave., Mount Pleasant 52641.
Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is assisting the family.
Mr. BITTNER was born Dec. 26, 1966, the son of Dickie Paul and Carol Kay JENNING HAGANS. He married Tracie Elaine POLTON May 13, 1994, in Brighton.
He grew up in Brighton and attended Washington schools.
He worked for Walmart Distribution Center in Mount Pleasant for eight years and most recently worked for his father collecting scrap metal.
He attended Green Mound Church in Trenton and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and all outdoor activities.
Survivors include his wife Tracie; one daughter, Samantha Jo BITTNER and spouse Cody McHUGH of Lockridge; one son, Steven Tyler BITTNER of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren; his parents, Carol and Dickie HAGANS of Lockridge; one brother, Tony BITTNER of Lockridge; and one sister, Melissa BITTNER of Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his birth father, Frank KNUPP.

Man in Lockridge dies from gunshotA man in Lockridge died from a gunshot wound he sustained Wednesday night.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call of a male subject shot at 105 W. Main St. in Lockridge Wednesday. Upon arriving at approximately 11:15 p.m., authorities found David L. BITTNER, 46, unresponsive due to a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
BITTNER died late Wednesday night at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield. Arrangements for his funeral are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.
The investigation into his death is ongoing and no charges have been filed....
