William J. Arnold, 72, of Keosauqua died at 10:40 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. ellis andrews officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 717 Dodge St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. Arnold was born May 31, 1931, in Clark County, Mo., the son of Floyd and Katie Bartholomew Arnold.

Mr. Arnold grew up in Van Buren County, lived in Fort Madison and Moline, Ill., and retired to Keosauqua Feb. 1, 2003. He had been a truck driver and was a race horse trainer. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Arnold; and one son, Floyd Lee Arnold, both of Shawnee, Okla.; one granddaughter; three brothers, Earl and John Arnold of Keosauqua and Mike Arnold of Chicago, Ill.; and one sister, Hazel Shipley of Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Don "Bud" Arnold.
