Ella 'Norine' LINDFIELD

Ella "Norine" LINDFIELD, 96, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Garden of Memories in Waterloo with the Rev. Art Sathoff officiating.

Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to American Association University Women or the donor's choice. Cards and memorials can be sent to 2927 180th St., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. LINDFIELD was born July 6, 1917, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Carl J. and Vera BATES MEYERS. She married Earl V. LINDFIELD Dec. 31, 1938. He died Sept. 17, 1963.

She was a teacher and worked more than 25 years for Area Education Agency 7 of Waterloo as a work study coordinator.

She continued her education after her family was grown, earning two specialist degrees in special education areas.

She enjoyed traveling and roamed Europe with her sister.

She loved researching her family history.

She was a member of AAUW and several book clubs in Waterloo.

She was a lifelong resident of Waterloo until she moved to Fairfield in February 2009.

Survivors include three sons, Michael R. LINDFIELD of the Philippines, Larry LINDFIELD and spouse Carol of Green Cove Springs, Fla., and Richard LINDFIELD of Brandon, Fla; one daughter, Gail MILLER and spouse Craig of Fairfield; five granchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald MEYERS of Michigan and Veryl MEYERS of Naples, Fla.; and one sister, Carlene BURRI of San Francisco, Calif.

In addition to her husband, her parents and two sisters, Lorna McCARTY and Reva BATES, preceded her in death.
