HELFENSTINE rites

LOCKRIDGE - Iva Lee HELFENSTINE, 73, Lockridge, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Burlington Medical Center in Burlington.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Lenwood Monte officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. HELFENSTINE was born March 24, 1914 at Dustin, Okla., the daughter of James B. and Susan BRITTON KIRKENDOLL, and lived in Lockridge for a number of years. She married Russell "Fud" HELFENSTINE July 23, 1966 in Lockridge. He died Aug. 4, 1974. A son also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Georgia NUPP, Burlington; five grandchildren, David ALLEN Jr., California; Richard YOUNG, Deborah NUPP, both of Burlington; Sgt. Terry YOUNG, stationed in Germany; John NUPP, Muscatine; eight great-grandchildren, a brother, four sisters and four half-brothers.
