SERVICES FOR MRS. GRAHAM TO BE THURSDAY

Well-known Fairfield Woman Lived Most of Life In Jefferson County

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Willia Ann GRAHAM, who died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at her home, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon from the First Methodist church. The services will be in charge of Dr. U. S. Smith and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. GRAHAM's death was not unexpected, she having suffered from a complication of diseases due to old age since early in November. Her serious illness dates from the middle of March during all of which time she has been a patient sufferer.

Born in Cedar township May 26, 1849 Mrs. GRAHAM was the daughter of Jeremiah and Elizabeth BATES. She was married to Milton GRAHAM at Salina by the late Elijah Edwards on May 26, 1871. Mr. GRAHAM had the post office and store at Perlee for a time and they also lived in Salina and other points before moving to Fairfield over forty years ago.

Mrs. GRAHAM joined the Methodist church as a young girl, in Salina. Coming to Fairfield she united with the First Methodist church and has long been a faithful member. She was always alert and active and interested in the needs of friend and neighbor. The last large family reunion was on the occasion of her 85th birthday, when she took part with children and grandchildren, in the amusements of the day.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters, W. Ted GRAHAM of Longmont, Colorado, and L. D. GRAHAM, Mrs. Gertie E. CARTER and Mrs. Lonia B. JOHNSON, all of Fairfield. The following four children preceded her in death: Ervine, killed in an accident May 9, 1907, Myrtle, Olive and Clemment. Dr. T. J. BATES of Fairfield and Mrs. Douglas McKIM of Rock Island, Ill., are children of her father. She leaves a number of nieces, among them Mrs. C. E. WARD of Fairfield. There are fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Jane LAUNCHBAUGH, died at Dresden, Kansas, June 23, 1934.

FUNERAL SERVICES ON THURSDAY FOR MRS. W. A. GRAHAM

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Willia A. GRAHAM were held at 2:30 yesterday afternoon from the First Methodist church. The pastor, Dr. U. S. Smith was in charge and burial was in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.

The service was very fitting as it contained Scripture readings and old hymns which were favorites of Mrs. GRAHAM. Paul Haney sang two solo numbers, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me."

At the request of the family, Dr. U. S. Smith read other little-known hymns from an old hymn book owned and cherished by Mrs. GRAHAM. He declared that the greatest and best legacy has been left to children and grandchildern (sic) in an unselfish Christian life. Such legacy is an enduring one.
