C. WOODBURN Dies At 31

Carol M. WOODBURN, 31, Fairfield Route 1, died suddenly Wednesday at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Mrs. WOODBURN was stricken Monday morning at her home near Glasgow. An autopsy was scheduled today to determine the cause of death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Batavia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Vander Hart and the Rev. Bill Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home.

Mrs. WOODBURN was the former Carol GOWEY. She was born Nov. 7, 1947 in Fairfield, the daughter of Herman and Roberta PICKARD GOWEY. She was married to Bill H. WOODBURN Aug. 17, 1969.

Mrs. WOODBURN was a member of the Batavia United Methodist Church and a 1965 graduate of Fairfield High School. She also graduated from beauticians' college in Burlington.

Surviving are her husband and two children, Kimberly Eileen, 5, and Todd Alan, 2. Also surviving are her parents of Batavia Route 2; two sisters, Kathleen KENNEDY, Iowa City, and Janice BERESFORD, Keosauqua; and three grandparents, Mrs. Raymond PICKARD, Packwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill GOWEY, Richland.

Admin. note: Buried in the New Part of the cemetery, in Lot S72. Her obituary gives her birth year as 1947, however a cemetery reading gives her birth year as 1946, as does the Social Security Death Index online.
