Willa 'Mae' HARRISON

Willa "Mae" HARRISON, 94, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be at Fell Cemetery, south of Libertyville.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 1-2 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Libertyville Fire Department or Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville. Cards and memorials can be sent to 507 N. Lee St., Mount Pleasant 52641-1442.

Mrs. HARRISON was born Aug. 13, 1918, in Eldon, the daughter of John William and Maggie Leoda POTTS ALLISON. She married Ralph "Johnny" HARRISON May 29, 1941, in Memphis, Mo. He died March 15, 1991, in Ottumwa.

While she was growing up, Mrs. HARRISON's father worked for the railroad so they lived in many places. They settled in Jefferson County where she spent the rest of her life living and working. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School and Parsons College. She spent almost 42 years as a school teacher working for the Fairfield Community School District.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Janie ALLISON.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: one sister, Margaret "Beth" COOKSEY; four brothers, Ira "Deyo," Keith "Leroy," William "Bill" and John Jr. "Jack" HARRISON (sic - ALLISON); and two nephews.
