Thursday, April 6, 1978G. MAIRET Dies At 75
BATAVIA - George A. MAIRET, 75, longtime resident of the Batavia community, died Wednesday afternoon at his home in Batavia.
Services will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery.
George A. MAIRET was born July 7, 1902, near Mount Pleasant. He was the son of Paul and Rosa MARET MAIRET. He spent most of his life in the Batavia area and was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1968.
His marriage to Opal McCLEARY took place March 14, 1932. She preceded him in death in 1976.
Survivors include five daughters, LaVelle RIDGEWAY, Fairfield; Margie MAIRET, Fairfield; Juanita JONES, Packwood; Darlene LEAHY, Anaheim, Calif.; Rosalie MAIRET, South Gate, Calif.; an adopted son, Gene MAIRET, Batavia; a stepson, Roscoe WEBB, Ottumwa; a brother, Henry MAIRET, Fairfield; a half-brother, Emery SCHLARBAUM, Bloomfield; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
