E. EMMACK Rites Set

Leo Edward EMMACK, 75, longtime resident of Jefferson County, died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Nursing Home.

Services will be Monday, April 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m.

Leo Edward EMMACK was born Aug. 4, 1901, in Louisa County near Fredonia. He was the son of Edward Leo and Hadessa CRULL EMMACK.

He lived in Illinois until he was 14. His family moved to Jefferson County in 1915. He farmed in this county until his retirement in 1968 when he and his wife moved to Mount Pleasant. They moved to Fairfield in 1971. The family home is at 302 North B.

His marriage to Alice M. JOHNSTON took place March 6, 1926, in Ottumwa. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by three daughters: Lucille SHERFY, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Dorothy WEBB, Batavia; and Bettye KANE, Forest City, Ark.; also four sons, William, Ollie; Donald, Buena Park, Calif.; Jerry, Kewanee, Ill.; and Dennis, Libertyville; along with 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
