BATAVIA - Harold E. SIX, 66, died Thursday evening at the University Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient the past three weeks. His death came at 10 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery.
Harold S. (sic) SIX was born Dec. 1, 1906, in Fairfield and spent most of his life in the Fairfield and Batavia Communities. He was the son of George L. and Mary E. STARK SIX.
He was employed by Jefferson County and worked on county roads for 41 years until his recent retirement. He was a member of the Christian Church.
His marriage to Iva E. WEST took place Sept. 17, 1927, in Fairfield. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Frances M. WHITMORE, Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; Mrs. Barbara J. COVERT, Batavia; and Mrs. Mary E. GRIFFIN, Fairfield; also three sons, Lloyd V., Kansas City, Mo.; William M., Batavia; and Robert W. Cameron, Mo.
Others include 14 grandchildren, three great grand-children, two sisters, Mrs. Raymond DAUB, Fairfield, and Mrs. James WADE, Fairfield; four brothers, John, Kenneth and Roy, all of Fairfield, and George, Ariel, Washington.
He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and a grandchild.
