Frances M. BASS

Frances M. BASS, 90, of Keosauqua, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at home.

A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with Larry Shipley officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Visitation opens at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with family and friends present from 5:30-7 p.m.

Memorials to the Keosauqua United Methodist Church or Fellows Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 113, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. BASS was born March 16, 1923, in rural Utica, LaSalle County, Ill., the daughter of Gerald and Marie STOUTT MURRAY. She married Dale M. BASS June 29, 1946, in Chicago. He died Jan. 20, 1969, in a car accident.

She grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Hyde Park High School in Hazel Crest, Ill.

She and her husband lived in the Chicago area.

She worked as secretary in the First Methodist Church in Harvey, Ill.

Her husband became a Methodist minister and they served Iowa churches in Oakville, Bayard and Keosauqua.

She was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Virginia BASS of Horseshoe Bend, Ark. and May BASS of Rolling Meadows, Ill.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gerald William MURRAY.
