Tuesday Rites For ALLENDER

Last rites for Charles Ray ALLENDER, 80, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Stumbo officiating. Burial will be in the Lambirth Cemetery near Glasgow.

ALLENDER, whose address was at 402 N. Main, died at 9:10 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County Hospital after being critically ill the past four months.

Charles Ray ALLENDER was born Feb. 7, 1893, at Rome in Henry County, the son of John and Sarah DUNCANSON ALLENDER. ALLENDER (err)

Reared and educated in the Fairfield Community, he attended the Baptist Church. His marriage to Iva HECKENBERG took place at Mount Pleasant June 24, 1939. She survives.

He was a retired meat cutter and butcher by trade, and owned and operated a meat market in the New Chicago area for a number of years. Later he had been employed at the Harper Brush Works.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R.J. BISHOP, Davenport; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph WHEATLEY, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by one brother.
