Rites Monday for Myrtle HOOK

PLEASANT PLAIN - Myrtle E. HOOK, 88, died Thursday evening at Washington Care Center, where she had lived for a number of years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton with the Rev. Clarence Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plain Friends Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer's Fund.

The daughter of Matt and Eva McMURRAY HOOK, Miss HOOK was born April 17, 1898 on the family farm south of East Pleasant Plain, where she lived until moving to the care center. She attended Hawkeye District School. She was a member of the former Methodist Episcopal Church in Pleasant Plain and later attended Pleasant Plain Friends Church. She worked as a telephone operator for a short time.

Surviving are a sister, Ila M. WHISLER of Brighton, a nephew and three nieces. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
