CARTER Death

Mrs. Gertie E. CARTER, 94, died at Parkview Care Center at 10:45 a.m. today. she was a long time Fairfield resident.

Arrangements are pending at the Behner Funeral Home.

Mrs. CARTER Last Rites

Funeral services for Gertie Ellen CARTER, 94, 504 N. Court, will be Thursday, 11 a.m., at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. CARTER died Monday 10 :45 a.m., at Parkview Care Center. She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill the past week.

Mrs. CARTER was born Oct. 9, 1883 at Rome, the daughter of Milton and Willa Ann BATES GRAHAM. On Oct. 9, 1906 she married Charles O. CARTER at Ottumwa. He died June 12, 1963.

She had lived in the Fairfield community more than 90 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge 96 and Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are one son, Leland of Littleton, Colo.; four daughters, Gayle ELAND of Winfield, Helen CLARKE of Council Bluffs, Oral HALL and Ruth SELLARS, both of Fairfield and 11 grandchildren. One son, one grandson, three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.

Organization Meetings

... FAIRFIELD REBEKAH

the Fairfield Rebekah Lodge No. 96 will meet in regular session Monday at 8 p.m. in IOOF Hall. Rebekah Assembly President Jennie Allen traveling emblem "The Moon and Seven Stars" will be presented by Hawkeye Rebekah Lodge No. 386. The charter will be undraped for Gertie CARTER. Refreshments will be served following lodge. Visiting Rebekahs welcome.
