K. MANNING dies

Kenneth Raymond MANNING, 71, 9501 E. Broadway, Mesa, Ariz., 85208, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday at Mesa Lutheran Hospital in Mesa.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at East Mesa Christian Church with the Rev. Dwaine Cerbin officiating. Henderson Funeral Home in Mesa is in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established to East Mesa Christian Church, 706 S. Greenfield, Mesa, 85208, and the Diabetes Association.

MANNING was born Sept. 13, 1915 in Fairfield, the son of Collins and Florence KELLY MANNING. He married Mary ISRAEL Feb. 23, 1957 in Fairfield. He retired as manager of Gamble's Hardware and moved to Mesa seven years ago. He was a longtime member of Elks Lodge 1192, VFW 2271, and American Legion Post 47, all of Fairfield. A veteran of World War II, he served in Italy, receiving a Purple Heart.

Surviving are his wife; four sisters and three brothers, including Mildred MANARY of Fairfield, Joan WINGATE and Juanita JENNINGS, both of Ottumwa, Richard and Elmer MANNING, both of Fairfield.

He was a member of East Mesa Christian Church.
