John R. FRESCOLN dies at 101

BATAVIA - John Raymond (Ray) FRESCOLN, 101, died Wednesday at his home in Batavia.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Batavia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Ann Bernard officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery. Masonic services will be Friday at 7 p.m. followed by visitation at Campbell's Funeral Chapel in Batavia. Memorials have been established to Frescoln's church and the Masonic Lodge.

FRESCOLN was born Nov. 25, 1885 near Abingdon, the son of Charles S. and Mary HARRISON FRESCOLN. He had lived all but five years of his life in Batavia, where he had farmed. He was an 80-year member of United Methodist Church, a 78-year member of Masonic Lodge and longtime member of OES and Lions, all of Batavia.

He married Mabel CURRAY Sept. 16, 1912. She died May 25, 1975. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Irma STEVENSON of Walnut Grove, Mo., Dorothy SMITH of Batavia; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. A daughter, a sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
