Frank Elwood BUCKINGHAM

Frank Elwood BUCKINGHAM 80, of Nixa, Mo., died Friday, March 22, 2013, in Springfield, Mo.

Inurnment with a family graveside service is at 2 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Mr. BUCKINGHAM was born Dec. 12, 1932, near Fairfield, the eighth of 12 children to Joseph and Laura FRITZ BUCKINGHAM. He was married to Nancy MARTIN for 45 years.

He attended Fairfield High School and Iowa State University.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and served in Korea shortly after the truce was declared.

Survivors include five children, Jaclyn GANZEN of Evansdale, Clark of Cedar Falls, Laura GERHOLDT of Springfield, Mo., Carl of Rogersville, Mo., and Lois MELBOURNE of Southlake, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine sisters, Aletha HAY of West Burlington, Ruth HOYT of Ottumwa, Helen NEFF of Westlake Village, Calif., Carol NELSON of Fairfield, Della TAYLOR of Mount Pleasant, Edith GAUBY of Nampa, Idaho, Bernice OGDEN of Fairfield, Christine BOYENGA of Merced, Calif., and Doris "Dee" EPPERSON of St. Francis, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Frank Joseph; one sister, Lois SHOOK; and one brother, Glen.
